Snack Ideas

Snacks are an important part of your day. They help keep your body moving without filling you up. They keep your metabolism regulated and they help you from getting so hungry that you end up eat whatever is in front of you and a lot of it. I like to always have snacks easily accessible.

*Cucumber, Avocado, Feta SalaD  

  • 1 Large avocado
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1 juice of a lemon (more if desired)
  • 1/2 fresh dill finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup of crumbled feta cheese

Mix all ingredients in bowl and serve. Makes for great left overs and pairs nicely with grilled chicken. 


*HOMEMADE GRANOLA BARS

  • 1 cup of nut butter (almond butter, peanut butter, etc.)

  • 1/4 cup of honey

  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil

  • 3 cups of oats

  • 1/2 sliced almonds (optional)

  • 1/4-1/2 cup of raisins

  • 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips (optional)

  • 1/4 ground flax seed (optional)

  • dash of cinnamon (optional)

Line a 8 or 9 in square baking dish with parchment paper. In a sauce pan on medium low heat, combine nut butter, honey, and coconut oil. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat and add oats, almonds, raisins, flax seed, and cinnamon. Pour mixture into baking dish. Spread so that the top is even. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Place in freezer for 15 minutes. Slice the pieces to your personal preference and place in an air tight container. *I usually put half in the fridge and the other half in the freezer.


Apples and Peanut Butter or almond butter

  • One apple 

  • 1 tbsp of peanut butter (I prefer the all natural kind)


Banana and peanut butter or almond butter

  • One Banana 
  • 1 tbsp of peanut butter or almond butter

celery and peanut butter or almond butter

  • 3-4 sticks of celery
  • 1 tbsp of peanut butter or almond butter

Almonds and greek Yogurt

  • A handful of almonds 

  • A single serving size of Greek yogurt

  • Unsalted peanuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Cashews
  • Raisins
  • Almonds
  • Dark chocolate morsels (optional)
