Our goal for this section of our website is to guide you down a path of healthy eating habits. We will be posting food ideas and recipes to help keep you on the right track. Nutrition is a very important component to the human body. You could workout everyday as hard as you can, but if you are not fueling your body with the proper nutrients it defeats the purpose of all your hard work. Nutrition is such a touchy subject. There are so many beliefs and studies on different types of food and the effects they can have on your body. A majority of people go on "fad diets" that are popular. Our take on nutrition is if you eat clean and use portion control you will be on the success train straight to superior health. We don’t like to call this eating plan a diet. When you say the word diet you think of a short term habit; eating and not eating certain types of food. We want our clients to be aware and conscience of what they're eating, and not just following a popular diet because their favorite celebs.
In our personal experience we are most successful in eating properly if we plan our meals the week before. For example, take 15-20 minutes on Sunday to plan out what you are going to be having for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the following week. We also write down a snack in-between each meal. This way you know exactly the food you need and what day you will need it. Most of the meals we recommend provide adequate leftovers for another meal later in the week. (This is also a good tip for saving money and time.)
Let’s be realistic, there are always those days where you just don’t have time to make it back home for a meal, or you don’t have time to cook. On those days where eating out is inevitable make sure to chose the healthier, cleaner food choice. Check out our "Fast Food" section for more information.
We will be the first to admit that everyone has cravings. That is where a cheat meal comes into play. Eating something that you have been craving every once in a while is not going to set you back. Think of it as a reward for all the healthy eating you have been doing. This is also something you should plan. If you are going to have a cheat meal, make sure to write it in your plan. This way you know when it is and you won’t sway from the rest of your meal plan.
